CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATOR

POSITION DESCRIPTION
BIGWAHA is seeking a Construction Administrator to work closely with the firm’s  project team. The Construction Administrator will play a crucial role in continuing to build our firm’s reputation during the construction phase of the project while assisting its staff so they can free up to pursue the completion of new projects.

EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the overall project Construction Administration phase. Assist with construction document interpretations; coordinate effectively with design professionals and municipal authorities.
  • Review Shop Drawings for compliance to construction documents and design intent. Coordinate substitutions with project team.
  • Answer RFI's and coordinate any joint efforts with general contractor when needed.
  • Review Change Orders and Application for Payment / Requisitions
  • Maintain log of submittals, RFIs and other supporting documentations throughout duration of project
  • Review materials submittals for compliance to quality and design specifications.
  • Support leadership initiatives in enhancing our CA standards and procedures.
  • Perform final walk throughs and generate Punch Lists.
  • Participate in the weekly QA session to share “lessons learned” from the field.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for Architecture and Construction Administration.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in architecture or construction compatible with the job description.
  • Hands on knowledge of Construction and Construction Practices – Contracts, General Conditions, Applications for Payment, Building Codes,
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-starter and organized multitasker able to handle many priorities at once.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Newforma and Procore is a plus.
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Deltek Vision is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD or Revit is a HUGE plus.

 

This is an immediate opening but there is flexibility for the start date
