 JEO’s Transportation Department provides expertise and services including traffic engineering, transportation planning, roadway and bridge design, and environmental. The Transportation Engineer is supported by a department of professionals to support managing successful projects that exceed client expectations while meeting JEO’s financial goals.

 The Transportation Engineer will:

  1. Develop Roadway Design plans and contract documents
  2. Perform Roadway Design tasks including:
    1. Culvert and storm sewer designs
    2. Horizontal and vertical alignments
    3. Typical section development
    4. Geometrics and grades
    5. Development of roadway cross sections and/or corridor model
  3. Ensure completeness of the design related forms and reports
  4. Develop and review cost estimates and calculation of construction quantities.
  5. Oversee layout and/or review plans.
  6. Demonstrate advanced use of CADD and assure compliance with project CADD standards

Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in civil/transportation engineering and Engineer Intern (EI) certification or having passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Preferred candidates: Professional Engineer (PE) License, and 4+ years’ experience working in the engineering industry on Department of Transportation projects, MicroStation and GEOPAK/OpenRoads experience a plus.
