Directs the Planning Design & Construction Department staff and manages contract project management employees.
Responsible for the flow of capital projects, assignment to staff and supervision of staff when needed to execute projects. As needed support staff to resolve technically complex problems resulting during the design and construction process.
Responsible for budget and financial accountability of the Planning Design & Construction Department, including all capital projects managed by both internal staff and outsourced PM firms for projects up to $15M/project.
Assist with all code compliance issues utilizing all the technical experts available.
Develop strong relationships with the Infection Prevention, Maintenance, Safety and Security Departments to ensure policies, practices, and standards are followed during the design and construction process. Work with these departments on utility outages, service interruptions, and construction related rerouting.
Assist leadership in developing departmental policies and procedures for Capital Projects.
Creative and innovative problem solver. Organized with effective time management skills. Analytical utilizing industry data and benchmarks. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience Required
8 years experience in the design and construction field, healthcare construction experience prefered.
5 years in project management/team management role.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in either Engineering, Architecture/Interior Design or Construction Management.
License/Certification Requirements
Registered Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent experience (> 10 Years)
