Job Description

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or expected completion by Fall 2023 graduation)
  • Have completed and passed the F.E. (Fundamentals of Engineering) Exam or planning to take the F.E. exam.
  • Basic AutoCAD skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Interest in AC electric distribution design.
  • Interest in being part of an electric future.
  • Interest in low and medium voltage power systems.
  • Willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment as well as function independently.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work alongside a Professional Engineer to assist with electrical CAD Design and specification writing, for the installation and operation of electrical power distribution and utilization and control systems, and industrial lighting, motor control, and branch circuit equipment and wiring.
  • Attend field visits of commercial, industrial, and municipal facilities for project scoping design services and construction engineering.
  • Coordinate projects with other HRC disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural, Survey, Environmental).
  • Project communication and coordination with outside entities such as DTE and Consumers Energy.
  • Assist in Construction Engineering, reviewing Contractor project submittals.
  • Coordinate projects and prepare written communication with clients and agencies, contractors and subcontractors, outside consultants and firm staff.
