SLR International Corporation is seeking an Air Quality Associate Consultant to join our Pacific Northwest team. The qualified candidate will have 5 or more years of experience in air quality consulting or related disciplines. Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related scientific field required
  • 5 or more years of hands-on related work experience
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, such as Title V, PSD, GHG Reporting, NSPS, NESHAP, RMP, ACDP, and Cleaner Air Oregon.
  • Experience with air compliance and permitting
  • Experience with reporting programs such as air emissions inventory, greenhouse gases, annual/semi-annual air permit reports, annual air compliance certifications, monthly air permit reports
  • Understanding of industrial operations and combustion equipment
  • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Possess valid driver’s license
  • Willing to travel by airplane and car, including overnight travel

Preferred Technical Skills and Experience

  • Experience with technical writing
  • Experience with air dispersion modeling (AERSCREEN, AERMOD)
  • Experience with MOVES (or MOBILE)
  • Experience with TNM software and basic acoustic principles is a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD or GIS is a plus
  • Experience with oil and gas, power generation, mining, or ports is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform emissions estimate calculations to aid in permitting, emissions inventories, and annual compliance reporting
  • Review State, Federal, and Local regulations for applicability determinations and compliance tasking
  • Assist with traffic noise monitoring and modeling for noise technical reports and noise wall design memorandums
  • Provide compliance assistance for clients including data management, document review, and development of compliance tools
  • Work with clients from a variety of industries in various locations inside and outside of the United States
  • Travel to clients’ facilities for inspections and document review
  • Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments


Compensation Range:
The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $80,000.00 to $88,000.00. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
