About the Position
Acting as a senior member of the SPI management team, the Senior Capital Project Manager (SCPM) provides overall supervision of the Capital Projects team responsible for new and ongoing projects. As the division lead, the Senior Capital Projects Manager also supports County Administration through management of the Capital Improvement Plan, managing the capital project budgets, professional services agreements, and major construction contracts, and advising the Deputy Director on strategic goals and the long-term vision for the team.
The SCPM ensures capital improvement projects are delivered on time, on budget, and meet customers' satisfaction. Supporting the SCPM in these efforts is one Capital Project Manager (CPM) and the Capital Projects Team, who is responsible for managing projects at the Main Adult Detention Facility, Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney, Public Defender, and Probation, as well as all other County facilities. The SCPM is familiar with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards and practices, and applies them as required. In addition to providing leadership for the Capital Projects Unit, the SCPM is responsible for directly managing the most complex design and construction projects.
