Full time Architecture Project Manager- Architecture Management

Job Description

Diverse projects across a number of market segments -- education, energy/utilities, hospitality/entertainment, infrastructure/public improvement, real estate and science/technology.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading satellite office, managing responsibilities of junior staff and developing new opportunities.
  • Ensure high quality of design, managing the design of hi-rise residential, multi-family residential, commercial, and industrial type facilities.
  • Collaborate with headquarters and other regional offices for multidiscipline opportunities with Building Group team members including structural engineers, MEPF engineers, civil, and environmental engineers to achieve quality results for clients.

Time Allocation:

Practice Management (25%) – Oversee operation of NYC office. Participate in Building Group management and assist in providing strategic direction for the Building Groups continued growth. Provide technical and aesthetic design and direction of projects including overall design aesthetic, interior design, code compliance, costs controls, QA/QC, etc.

Project Management (35%) - Assume Project Architect / Project Manager role on a select number of large or important projects to add experience and insight to the project teams

Client Relationship & Business Development (25%)- Take an active role in marketing and business development of the brand, with a focus on expanding opportunities within the NY Region. Take an active role guiding and reviewing marketing materials, public relations , client relation management and RFP/proposal responses.

Staff Development & Recruitment (10%)- Build, mentor , lead and educate A/E staff through formal and informal staff development programs that help improve skills and retain talent. Work with HR to recruit and evaluate prospective new talent to build a stronger team.

Professional Thought Leadership (5%) - Develop, author and present articles and white papers that add value to clients and industry professionals while raising company reputation in the marketplace. Guide A/E staff to encourage them to publish and present work to

various industry audiences (e . g . clients , conference & trade audiences , continuing education
 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited architectural school, Masters a plus
  • Registered Architectural License in New York, and NCARB registered.
  • 15+ years of architectural design experience in a consulting firm
  • LEED accreditation a plus.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, PMP a plus.
  • Experience in the use of Revit in development of design concepts, presentations and construction drawings a plus.
  • Experience presenting and communicating design concepts, analysis and conclusions to clients and others.
  • Extensive experience in applying standards and building code requirements to designs.
  • Experience in both private sector and public works projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
  • Ability to problem solve in a creative, entrepreneurial way.
  • Extensive experience in the preparation of successful proposals for work with existing and new clients.
  • Requires excellent leadership and organizational management skills including advanced communications skills – both verbal and written.
