Job Description
POSITION PROFILE
We seek a creative Design Director with the ability to visualize and formulate concepts that transform dramatic natural settings in exciting and innovative ways. The Design Director will help to develop visual plans, with a focus on wellness of mind and body, community and being at one with nature.
Key responsibilities include providing creative leadership to design environments that offer a retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The Design Director will utilize practical experience to drive the layout and rendering of conceptual designs for our new experiential hospitality brand. In addition to creating unique designs for areas such as, tents, dining, staff housing, spas and landscaping, the Design Director will also build sustainable and unexpected experiences that are reflective of the local community.
INDIVIDUAL PROFILE
The successful candidate will draw on their progressive work experience in Architecture or Design to help build unique environments. In addition, candidates should possess a sophisticated design perspective with the skill and ability to assume ownership for synthesizing different concepts into a coherent, innovative project grounded in common sense. In addition to previous experience in design and a willingness to travel, the candidate should have:
- A high level of sophisticated creativity, innovative thinking and problem solving
- Technical expertise in concept development and leading the creative process
- A high level of proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and SketchUp
- Project management skills and experience with managing multiple stakeholders
- A high degree of knowledge regarding construction materials and methods
- The ability to articulate ideas and incorporate feedback
- A self-starter mentality and a passion for creating unique spaces
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- A strong work ethic and eagerness to succeed
- Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Maturity, professionalism, and a high level of personal integrity
- An undergraduate degree in architectural or interior design is required.
