Job Description

Seeking qualified candidates for its Transportation Team at the Project Engineer level. This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design of numerous transportation projects throughout the Rocky Mountain Region.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design transportation facilities, including interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and multimodal facilities
  • Prepare studies, reports, plans, and construction packages for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Support Project Managers with client relations, stakeholder management, and subconsultant coordination
  • Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
  • Guide and mentor junior engineers and technicians on various design support tasks
  • Take ownership of projects from start to finish
  • Act as design lead for large, multi-discipline projects
  • Perform field observation work when necessary

Education and/or Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 6+ years of experience in the design of transportation facilities
  • Knowledge and experience with MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other applicable software common to the field of transportation engineering
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with Colorado DOT (or other state DOT) plan preparation procedures and standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
  • A desire to grow personally and professionally while working in a team environment to create designs supporting our clients’ overall project goals
  • Project design lead experience is a plus
  • Hydraulics and/or traffic experience is a plus

Required License or Certification: 

  • Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state
