Job Description

Are you a highly motivated civil design engineer seeking an environment where your talents are valued and encouraged to grow? Join our Juneau, Alaska, office in a key position performing challenging civil design and construction administration with special emphasis in coastal infrastructure. You will collaborate on a variety of interesting projects and hone your skills in site development, production of construction drawings and specifications, and design of utilities, site grading and waterfront facilities. Most of our projects include all aspects of engineering design through onsite construction inspection and contract administration. As a bonus, you will have the opportunity for occasional travel within Alaska and to support projects being designed in remote areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • Achieved E.I.T. certification in Alaska or other U.S. state with goal to become a licensed professional engineer.
  • 1-5 years of relevant professional experience. More experienced applicants may apply.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a teamwork setting and to direct other engineering staff in an office of approximately 20 engineers and technicians.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad Civil 3D, AutoTURN, Microsoft Project and other general software applications.
  • Ability to produce accurate, efficient work within budget and time constraints.
  • Strong written and oral English skills necessary to communicate with clients, co-workers, and contractors.
  • Willingness and ability to perform inspection in a variety of outdoor settings and climate conditions.
  • Ability to occasionally travel away from home for a few days to a few weeks at a time using commercial airline, smaller airplanes, helicopters, or boats. Travel expectation is approximately 10-20%.
  • Must have legal authorization to work for any employer in the United States without need for sponsorship.
  • Valid U.S. drivers’ license and good driving record required.
