Job Description

Powers Brown Architecture is looking to for an experienced, licensed Architect to join our team in the Atlanta market. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge of building technologies, document organization and project team management as well as excellent interpersonal abilities, strong communication and organizational skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare strategic plans for project success;
  • Be responsible for the coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to assure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects;
  • Serve as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion to the client’s satisfaction;
  • Actively manage client budgets, schedule and programs; project communication and documentation; office administrative tasks and project team assignments;
  • Estimate fees, determine scope of work and prepare proposals and contracts;
  • Collaboration with project team to produce schedule implementation, design reviews, drawing updates, drawing / specification coordination, value engineering, constructability feasibility, review of shop drawings, review and response to Requests for Information, and creation of Architectural Supplemental Instructions, Proposal Requests, and Change Orders;
  • Research of building materials and systems, building codes, regulations, etc.;
  • Accurately delivering all project phases on time and within budget to achieve client goals;
  • Developing details that are consistent with the design direction, and support the overall quality of the project; and
  • Documenting client communications as needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 10-20 years of experience in the Atlanta area;
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture (or equivalent);
  • An architectural license in Georgia;
  • Experience managing a team or staff;
  • Verifiable client and consultant management experience;
  • Overall project management experience;
  • Experience with local jurisdictional requirements and processes;
  • Knowledge of commercial building types;
  • Business development experience (preferred but not required); and
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
